Wedding Policies & Procedures
MinisterWeddings must be performed by a minister who is registered with the State of Minnesota. Civil ceremonies, performed by a judge, are not permitted. If your minister is not registered in Minnesota, registration can be done in Ramsey County by calling 651-266-1333 or by contacting any county office in Minnesota.
Marriage License
A Minnesota state marriage license is required to be married in Nazareth Chapel. You may apply for a marriage in any Minnesota county and your license will be recorded in the county in which you apply. Contact the county where you will be applying for any additional requirements.
More Information
The wedding coordinator will be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding our services. Upon request we will provide lists of the following wedding resources:
Music/Musicians
You may choose music that is meaningful for your wedding experience, whether religious and/or secular. Because of the acoustic properties of the chapel, use of drum sets and amplified electric instruments is discouraged. Exceptionally large or multiple musical ensembles may incur additional costs.
All policies are subject to change. |
Set-up/Tear-downPlease assign people to set up and tear down all of your chapel decorations within the 3 hour time frame. Use of adhesives or hard wire in decorating is not permitted. A University of Northwestern - St. Paul Wedding Assistant will set up and tear down our furniture and candelabra.
Flowers
Please inform your florist that the chapel is available only on the wedding day within the contracted time frame. No adhesives or hard wires are allowed to attach decorations to any surface in the chapel. To attach decorations to the candelabra, florists may use chenille wires or wire covered with floral tape.
Aisle Runner
You may provide a 100-foot aisle runner if desired. The runner is required if flower petals or similar items will be dropped down the aisle. Adhesive for the aisle runner is provided.
If you plan to drop real flower petals down the aisle, an aisle runner is required to keep the tile from staining. Communion
If you plan communion as part of your wedding ceremony, you must provide all the necessary supplies including bread/crackers, juice and serving items. Wine is not permitted.
Photographer
Family and bridal party photographs must be completed 15 minutes before the seating of guests. If you plan to take photos after the ceremony, please connect with the wedding coordinator to purchase additional time in the chapel.
Videographer
If you are having your wedding video-recorded, our sound engineer can run a feed from our sound system to your video camera (if the camera has an audio input) to add quality sound to your video recording. Your videographer must arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the wedding in order for the sound engineer to set up the audio connection. The sound engineer will not be able to provide this service less than 30 minutes prior to the ceremony.
Not all audio and video systems are compatible. If you would like to verify A/V compatibility in advance, you or your videographer may contact the wedding coordinator. The use of drones is not permitted on campus. |
